2025 Joint Session with Improvisation Interest Group

At SMT 2025 Minneapolis, Improvisation/Post-1945 Music Analysis Interest Groups hosted a joint annual meeting, celebrating the 80th birthday year of Anthony Braxton. The meeting featured three 10-minute presentations on Anthony Braxton, his contemporaries, and analytical approaches to improvisation in contemporary concert music. A group Q&A then followed.
